I just wanted to congratulate you on your videos during Lock Down they were very interesting and I feel you have made History for this and future generations to come. Being a Buchan Quine too, you have taught me a few things and reminded me of many others. Well done and thank you. I hope you keep up the good work, your a true inspiration, what a great way to spend time and to be able to share with others who just can’t journey out at this time, much appreciated.

I have been following your videos and interviews for some time now, and I just want to add my support to your work in keeping Doric traditions and language alive. I think the way you have responded to the challenges of living through this pandemic is helpful to us all. It is a great opportunity to slow down and see the beauty in the natural world and the everyday things all around us, to be really appreciative of our culture and achievements.

Coronavirus Lockdown, a good time for reflection.

At a time when the world is reeling from the impact of Corona Virus and the devistation it has caused for so many people across the world, we find ourselves self isolating to sheild ourselves from the obvious dangers. I have used this time to reflect on my own very personal struggles and feel all the stronger having made these short films which I am proud to share with you.

The Love Of Scotland

A photographic and video snap shot of Scotland. Depicting some very well known and not so well known destinations. I have walked and cycled parts of the Scottish Islands. My journeys round Scotland have been extensive – from Caithness to Royal Deeside, The Kingdom O’ Fife, to my own homeland of Aberdeenshire and places in between ! This is but a small fraction of places in Scotland I have visited and explored! I’ve met many an interesting person on the way and captured their stories and achievements. 2020 is the year of Scotland’s Coasts and Waters, I wanted to highlight the significance of my Bonnie Buchan Coastline!

I loved it Jill! It truly is the best Scotland tour video I’ve ever seen! Not just your best, but of any I’ve seen on youtube or other outlets. You really take the viewer all over Scotland. There are so many beautiful places I haven’t seen. You did a great job on this one. The tourism companies there should thank you for making this video as it would make anyone want to visit! You’ve created a beautiful introduction to Scotland.

Jill’s Farming Days and Culture

Describing my Doric/Buchan Roots, and exploring beautiful Buchan coastline on North East coast of Scotland which I am blessed to have right on my doorstep. I explain what the benefits of walking in history and nature mean to me and make the connection between Slains Castle, Bram Stoker, Dracula and Creativity!

Feedback from Doric Future You Tube Channel: “This documentary film is probably the best I have ever seen. Jill is the lady I highly respect.
She really knows what LIFE is. Thank you for kind effort made to show us about Scotland . Thanks again”.

Doric Jill’s Lockdown Doorstep Diary

This short film takes in the stunning coastal scenery of the North East of Scotland – wildlife, nature, creativity and culture from the perspective of a Scots Quine. Seabirds, coastal flowers, granite rocks are in abundance. The ancient history of Cruden Bay. the impressive ruin of Slains Castle, Dracula, the world class Cruden Bay Golf Course and much, much more all within walking distance from my own house.
