28th December 2020

Since the initial lock down of 2020, a new strain of  covid has forced people back into a lockdown in December .

I have been in shielding with my partner since March 2020, I have continued to walk along the Buchan Coastline to aid mental and physical well-being.

As well as documenting the beauty of our rugged coastline, I have thought deeply of the people who have worked in these coastal areas over the decades.

Along the coastline where I lived and worked on my fathers farm, is an area which was extensively quarried for granite .   Both the pink and grey granite of the Buchan area seems to be a near forgotten industry, yet the granite extracted from Longhaven and Stirlinghill Quarries went all over the world  into the making of many fine buildings.
